Soroptimist International operates within its Programme Focus which essentially is its Charter of Service. Clubs work towards Projects which are undertaken at a local, national and international level.
The Programme Focus informs Soroptimist members about the focus and direction of the service activities that the Soroptimist International leaders and Programme Voting Delegates (PVDs) have chosen to pursue during the current Quadrennium.
As Soroptimists we are A Global Voice for Women. As a women's organisation, we work in partnership with others to advance human rights and the status of women.
The 2007 - 2011 Programme Focus is our blueprint for awareness, advocacy and action. It was developed to ensure that we as Soroptimists continue to be A Global Voice for Women.
As a Soroptimist International (SI) club, we focus on working in partnership with others, thinking globally and acting locally.
Every year, we:
Review the Soroptimist International Programme Focus Objectives and determine the projects we will support;
Undertake projects that meet these objectives; and
Report our awareness, advocacy and action projects/activities in Programme Focus Reports and submit them to Soroptimist International and our Federation (using the online reporting system wherever possible).
Collectively, we make a difference by raising awareness and supporting projects.
Whilst each club manages their own set of projects aimed at meeting the organisation's Programme Focus Objectives, some projects are initiated at the International and Federation level.
