Report on The Racecourse Road Street Party Stall held jointly by Soroptimist International Brisbane City and Soroptimist International Brisbane North Sunday 20 July

The day was a huge success with thousands of people flocking to the Brisbane Festival event. The stall got busy from about 10:30 am onwards with a brief lull over lunchtime. The face painting took off as soon as the sign went up and came to a brief interlude at about 2:15 pm (when changeover of face painters occurred) before taking off again at about 2:30 pm until about 4:15 pm.). The girls on the stall did well with various members working the crowd from the front of the stall.

A couple of the member's kids (who were eight years old) practised their mathematics helping to work out change and another member's son (four years old) proudly announced to people that his mum was doing some of the face-painting and was really good :-)

Profits from the face painting and the raffle were relegated to Project SIerra and profits from the sale of merchandise were relegated to club projects.

The goals for the day's events were:

1) To raise the awareness of Soroptimist International;
2) Recruit new members; and
3) Raise funds for club projects.

The day gave SI Brisbane City and SI Brisbane North a great opportunity to work together on achieving the goals.
